A giveaway draw people can understand and trust.

The random click is the shortest part of a fair giveaway. Clear rules, a clean entry list, and a recorded process matter just as much as the picker.

Publish the rules first

State who may enter, the opening and closing times, how many entries each person may receive, the prize, the method of selection, the response deadline, and how an alternate winner will be chosen. Check the laws and platform rules that apply to your location and promotion.

Prepare the entry list

Close entries at the announced time. Remove entries that do not meet the published requirements, normalize obvious formatting differences, and decide duplicates according to the rules. Do not change the rules after seeing who entered.

Assign each eligible entry a stable name or number. If people earned multiple entries legitimately, represent each entry consistently and preserve a copy of the final source list.

Run a transparent draw

1. Record the number of eligible entries.
2. Paste the final list into the picker or generate a number matching the numbered list.
3. Record the date, time, tool, and selected result.
4. Save evidence appropriate to the value and formality of the promotion.
5. Verify the selected winner before making an announcement.

Plan for alternates

Decide in advance whether to draw one alternate immediately or conduct a new draw only if needed. Apply the same response deadline and verification process to every selected person.

Know when a public tool is not enough
